The event brought together around 4,000 delegates, all united by the common goal of driving growth and discovering new purposes in the AI era. So, the buzz word of the event? AI, of course. From the keynote speeches to the breakout sessions, AI was the central theme, highlighting its transformative potential and the urgent need for the industry to adapt and innovate.
This collective effort was a response to last year’s ‘code red’ warning from TM Forum, addressing the industry’s most pressing challenges. The collaborative spirit was palpable, as brilliant minds from the telecommunications sector converged to foster an environment ripe with innovation and collaboration.
Nik Willetts, CEO of TM Forum, set the tone for the event with his opening remarks on Tuesday. He outlined the missions of TM Forum related to AI and evolution, announcing significant progress across ODA. The pervasive theme of AI was a driving force during the entire week.
The rapid acceleration of AI technology underscores the need for us to embrace change in how we collaborate and innovate. Our industry stands at a pivotal moment, wheres wift and decisive action is crucial to maintaining and enhancing our role in the global economy.
One of the highlights for us was seeing our Catalyst, "SATCOM + 5G Anywhere," receive top honors in both the "Tech for Good" and "Innovative & Futuristic" categories at the Outstanding Catalyst Awards. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team over the past months. It was incredibly rewarding to have our efforts acknowledged in such a prestigious forum.
The success of our Catalyst project is more than just an award; it’s a significant acknowledgment from the industry. It validates the direction we’re headed and motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation. This Catalyst has immense value, demonstrating clear and substantial benefits for society by ensuring connectivity continuity through satellite and 5G, especially during emergencies. And we're honored to be part of this transformative initiative.
The second highlight for us was taking the stage alongside delegates from other companies, to demonstrate our commitment to ODA and our conformance. This took place during the 'ODA for Growth' session, where we announced the upcoming ODA component conformance certification, which will formally certify ODA components starting in January 2025.
